Today is a very exciting day for the future of HostDime as we officially launch our new OpenStack cloud product called Nebula! Everything you have come to expect from an enterprise environment can now be done in our reliable, robust, and scalable OpenStack cloud ecosystem.
Nebula, powered by OpenStack, provides scalable on-demand elastic computing resources. It’s never been easier to suit the needs of your growing business infrastructure.
What is OpenStack?
HostDime’s Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solution is built on OpenStack software. OpenStack is a free and open source platform created specifically for cloud computing. This software consists of interrelated components that control hardware pools of processing, storage, and networking resources throughout a data center. Users either manage it through a web-based dashboard, command-line tools, or API.
The HostDime cloud is a large bare metal cluster that has been optimized for virtualization and runs the core services of the OpenStack suite. This infrastructure with OpenStack makes it easy for users to quickly add new instances.
The Benefits of HostDime’s OpenStack Cloud
Nebula allows you the availability, flexibility, and granularity found in today’s cloud marketplace. Nebula excels at data durability, redundancy, and near perfect uptime. Here are a few more reasons why Nebula is ideal for your growing enterprise.
QUICKLY LAUNCH INSTANCES: Deploy, manage, and organize large groups of virtual machines on the fly. Develop an instance, perform tests, and deploy any mission-critical application. Leverage HostDime’s world-class data center infrastructure to create a pool of virtual machines.
HORIZONTAL SCALING: Horizontal scaling is when additional servers are clustered to serve content in parallel. The cloud focuses on horizontal scaling so you can create as many servers as you need.
HIGH AVAILABILITY: Nebula has been designed to allow you to configure your applications to continue uninterrupted if one of your virtual machine fails. This is ideal for enterprises that require a high-availability cloud configuration for production environments. If any of our physical server fails, the remaining servers pick up the slack with no API service downtime to the end-user. Our engineers will fix the problem in the background with no service downtime.
FLOATING IPs: A floating IP is a publicly routable IP that is used to access instances from the internet. To provide easier failover and unparalleled scaling, floating IP addresses are provided and can be instantly moved from one server to another in our data centers. Part of a highly available infrastructure is being able to immediately point an IP address to a redundant server.
40 Gbp/s BANDWIDTH: Nebula is built to achieve up to a 40 Gbp/s bandwidth channel as it is backed by multiple high-end fiber network devices.
ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES: Looking to further isolate your application from the public network? Provision a firewall instance with a click of a button. Is your application growing? Quickly add a load balancer or provision a new web instance on the fly.
How Much Does Nebula Cost?
Our pay-by-the-hour billing model offers the ability to scale every aspect of your infrastructure, quickly, in an affordable manner. With our OpenStack cloud, as your applications grow, your infrastructure grows with it. Pay only for what you use with resources billed hourly.
