Orlando, FL – HostDime.com, Inc., a global leader in data center cloud infrastructure, closed on a 5-acre land parcel fronting I-4 in the Town of Eatonville, Florida today. The property will be the future home of HostDime\u2019s corporate headquarters and the premier data center facility for its US operations. This new data center facility will also serve as the only enterprise Tier 4 data center in the Orlando metropolitan area. The land is currently owned by Orange County Public Schools, controlled by the Town of Eatonville, and known as the Hungerford site. The site was home to the former Robert Hungerford Preparatory High; the school closed in 2009. The deal with HostDime was for 5 acres of the 99-acre property on the Wymore Road corridor adjacent to I-4.<\/p>\n

The Eatonville Town Council voted unanimously to approve the HostDime developer\u2019s agreement at a town meeting on Thursday, May 26, 2016. HostDime CEO Manny Vivar was at the meeting to see the process completed and to discuss with town leaders the partnership between HostDime and Eatonville.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very excited to see this land closing done,\u201d said Mr. Vivar. \u201cIt is the biggest leap forward in getting our new facility off the ground and also to be the anchor for the development that will happen in the remainder of this valuable property along I-4 in Eatonville. We have been excited to partner with Eatonville for some time. The town is rich with underground fiber. This is going to be a gem in the Orlando area and a huge economic impact for the Town of Eatonville. We couldn\u2019t have gotten this far without the support of Town Council, the Orange County Public School Board, and both of their staff. We are thankful to those that helped make it happen and are eager to move forward with the work ahead.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The closing marks the first step in constructing the 110-foot high, seven-story world-class data center and corporate office for HostDime.com, Inc. Founded in 2003, HostDime has been part of the Central Florida community since its inception. HostDime\u2019s first data center was in downtown Orlando in 2003, but eventually moved to its current data center that is located about half a mile from the new property. The campus style setting of the new building and surrounding areas looks to be an anchor tenant for what is the latest beacon of growth for the area. It is being recognized as one of the largest built-to-suit fully owner-occupied projects in the Central Florida area. The 90,000 square-foot structure is projected to be complete by 2020.<\/p>\n

Eatonville\u2019s Mayor Eddie Cole stated that \u201cThis is an exciting time for Historic Eatonville, and we are elated that HostDime is the pioneer of the 99-acres. Our Town Council is cognizant of our historic texture; we look forward to venturing into the future. We’re just a small town with big plans.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Baker Barrios Architects, Inc. conceptualized the building\u2019s ultra modern design in keeping with HostDime\u2019s vision and desire to create an iconic building for the Orlando metro area. Unlike typical office buildings, this facility will serve as HostDime\u2019s primary world-class data center with unique specifications for high-end technological infrastructure. Features include an abundance of fiber, 10 megawatts of electrical power, high-density rooftop solar panels, 3-point check in security process, and building reinforcement to handle a Category 5 hurricane. The facility will also have multiple certifications including a high level FISMA certification that will allow the facility to service federal government cloud data storage.<\/p>\n

The new HostDime facility will eventually combine the current corporate headquarters near UCF in Research Park with the current data center HostDime operates in Central Florida. For the near future, both data centers will operate concurrently to handle demand for data center space in the Orlando metro area.<\/p>\n
