Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation and maintenance of datacenter hardware, software, and related infrastructure
- Maintain an expertise in the area of system administration including industry trends, strategies, and products to ensure that HostDime assets are effectively and efficiently used
- Perform system administration labor via internal helpdesk tickets, monitoring software, and project tracking software
- Contribute to and moderate materials in company knowledge base and code repository
- Provision standard systems as needed
- Develop managed procedures as needed
- Attend all bi-weekly scrum meetings
- Be a positive role model for all other company staff
Requirements
- Exceptional computer and internet skills
- Strong knowledge of general IT skillset
- Experience with datacenter technologies in an administrative role
- Must have extensive experience using and troubleshooting cPanel and Plesk
- Knowledge of IP protocol suite and a general understanding of the OSI model
- Experience with troubleshooting LAMP, HTML/PHP, IIS, MySQL and MSSQL
- Strong Linux command line skill along with configuration and file handling experience
- Ability to assemble and troubleshoot a multitude of hardware configurations
- Must be capable of working off hours/on-call as required
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and/or have authorization to work in the U.S.
Desired Skills
- At least a year of experience managing Windows sever environments (2008 and 2012 preferred)
- At least two years of experience working in a web hosting environment
- Ability to work within an agile work environment
- Bash scripting experience (knowledge of other scripting languages a plus)
- Ability to learn new things quickly and adapt to the volatile technology landscape
