We understand that the recent changes in our policy regarding free software licenses may be a bit confusing. This article provides general information about the change, and how it may or may not effect you.

FAQ

What is changing?

Effective March 1st, 2017, the following free licenses are no longer a part of both new and existing hosting packages.

- Softaculous (premium)
- RVSkin
- WHMCS
- WHMExtra
- Fantastico De Luxe

What does this mean for me if I am using any of this software?

On March 1st, 2017, the license will expire and the software will no longer be accessible.

If you used Softaculous to install any scripts (such as WordPress) the WordPress site will still function, but it will just no longer be managed by Softaculous.

WHMCS licenses will be valid until their current expiration date, at which point you will need to pay to renew them.

What if I am currently using Softaculous for the management of third-party applications such as Wordpress, Joomla, or PrestaShop?

We would highly recommend you maintain your Premium license to allow for easier management and maintenance of these installation. Softaculous allows for simple one-click installations of most scripts you may require, and allows for automatic updating of these installations as well, which in turn ensures that your sites are more secure and efficient. If you regularly utilize Softaculous to manage multiple installations, the benefits far outweigh the cost associated with the license. The removal of the premium license for Softaculous will not affect any of the existing installations functionality otherwise.

How would I continue to use this software?

Open a ticket with the Accounting or Support department, and we will be glad to help you set up the needed paid license.

What is the pricing for paid licenses?

Our current pricing can be found here: https://www.hostdime.com/services/software

Are there free versions of any of this software?

Only for Softaculous, which includes much fewer scripts. (And does not include WordPress). More information can be found here: https://www.softaculous.com/softaculous/scripts_in_free
