How to Write a Kickass Press Kit for Your Company Website

how to write a press kit

A press kit, otherwise known as a media kit, is an information document about your business or product. It doesn’t matter if you run a small blog or a large corporation, press kits are necessary to be taken seriously. Let’s explore why there’s tons of value for companies to have a press kit.

Why Do You Need A Press Kit?

Think of a press kit as your company’s resume, showing off your brand as efficiently as possible. Usually it’s found under the “About” or “Press” section of the website, or if not on the site, in a zip file that can be emailed and downloaded upon request.

Press kits are the ideal way of communicating with potential sponsors and advertisers. They are also useful if you are launching a new product or company, mergers and acquisitions, news conferences, and anything else journalists would need to help further your brand awareness.

What Does a Press Kit Consist Of?

There’s no set limit on how short or long a press kit should be. Each company and blog’s press kit will be unique to what goal you want to accomplish, whether it’s to inform or create advertising opportunities.
