It is essential for HostDime to constantly examine the infrastructure and layout to optimize the performance of the facilities, therefore enclosure manufacturer Electrorack was contacted to eliminate hot spots throughout the datacenter.
Electrorack’s Contain-IT™ Aisle Containment is a cost-effective solution designed to prevent the mixing of hot exhaust air with cold supply air, a needed element in proper data center airflow management. Electrorack’s new design offers complete flexibility with significant energy savings and improved datacenter energy efficiency.
HostDime’s raised main floor is 5,000 feet, with 16 rows of 16 cabinets creating 8 hot aisles. The room is cooled with 6 CRAC units on a glycol loop. Cooling is provided through an overhead duct system in the drop ceiling and the space under the raised floor is dedicated to cabling and power distribution.
It was determined that the simplest solution with the most return was to install a hot aisle containment system. HostDime had a very specific criteria for Electrorack’s aisle containment setup: it needed to have a professional, finished form factor, be exceptionally robust, and have a great price.
