HostDime 2015 Year in Review

Time flies when you’re having fun, and 2015 went by in a hurry for everyone here at HostDime.

Among many accomplishments and new product lines and services, the big news was the announcement of our very own, 88,000-square-foot, 7-story-high data center facility breaking ground in the next few months. The building will rise 110 feet high beside Interstate 4 in Orlando, Florida. The new category 5 hurricane-rated facility will feature space for over 35,000 servers, a dozen or more Tier 1 bandwidth providers connecting in 3 full-sized meet me rooms, full Tier 4 level redundancy, and in-line hardware-based Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Attack Protection.

2015 saw continued growth for HostDime and our clients. Here’s just a few highlights from the last 365 days:

New KVM VPS’ for SMBs: In August, we announced new managed Linux VPS packages for our clients. These pure SSD and KVM (Kernal-based Virtual Machine) have been upgraded with a fiber 10 Gbps backbone, providing lightning fast results. Virtualization will offer more dedicated resources to clients for further customization of their hosting environment. 100% of the RAM and disk resources are dedicated to one individual user.

New Dedicated Servers: In November, we debuted our most powerful servers yet, with a line fully comprised of new v3 Haswell-based Xeon CPUs, including the Dodeca (12) core CPUs. The Xeon v3 series are among the most power efficient processors known to man, featuring a wider core, higher cache bandwidth, and an improved front-end and memory controller.

Looking Glass: This tool allows viewing of backbone routing and network efficiency behavior as it originates from our remote networks.

Raid Calculator: Our drag-and-drop RAID calculation tool compares and configures RAID options and drive sizes to expand on your server’s performance and reliability.

SSL and CSR Tools: HostDime’s talented technicians created in-house four different tools to help you manage and diagnose most SSL issues, and decode and generate CSRs.

Every year, we donate to the local Second Harvest Food Bank and Salvation Army Orlando. A huge thank you goes out to our generous employees for pitching in during the holidays for the less fortunate.

Lastly, in October, the HostDime-sponsored event “Smash the Record” was held by the UCF Gaming Knights to raise money for the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. The 72 hour “Super Smash Bros” tournament raised over $50,672 for the hospital! This event is sure to raise even more this upcoming year.
