You may think July 4th is the only noteworthy holiday this month, but you’d be dead wrong. There’s plenty of other reasons to celebrate. These are all 100 percent real, certified holidays. If you would like to create your own holiday and feel special, nothing is stopping you. (In case you were wondering, “Make Your Own Holiday Day” is March 26th.) Now, onto the list..
July Holidays Worth Celebrating
Today, July 1st, is International Joke Day. I’ll try my best: “A man walks into a bar.. and says OW!” Har har har. I may have confused this holiday with International Corny Joke Day.
Tomorrow, July 2nd, is World UFO Day, which was the date of the Roswell Incident. Celebrate by watching the sky and spotting strange flying aliens. This would be the ideal day for aliens to land and kill our crops.
July 3rd is Disobedience Day. I’m not saying to disobey your parents, teachers, bosses on July 3rd, but I’m not NOT saying that either.
July 4th is Sidewalk Egg Frying Day. Whoa, it’s Sidewalk Egg Frying Day already?! I’ll go try this in the hot Orlando heat, if you promise to eat it afterwards.
July 13th is Embrace Your Geekness Day. Science geeks, math geeks, computer geeks, gaming geeks, geek geeks, this day is for you! Be proud and show off your geekiness today (as if you had a choice). If you are not a geek, celebrate the geek in your life.
July 14th is National Nude Day. Nudists unite! National Nude Day is the day we celebrate the human body. I do not suggest Google image searching “National Nude Day” at work, like I just did.
July 20th is Moon Day. No this not another Nude Day. This celebrates the day humans first landed on the moon. Remember Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins for creating one of the most historic moments ever.
July 22th is Hammock Day. This may be my favorite holiday I didn’t know existed. Lounging, chilling, relaxing, sleeping.. these are a few of my favorite things, and I will be sure to do them all in a hammock on July 22th.
July 26th is All or Nothing Day. Otherwise known to me as Go Big or Go Home day, this is not some silly little holiday; you better take July 26th dead serious. Leave everything you have out there, take nothing for granted, and go get what you want.
Lastly, July 29th is National Lasagna Day. Follow in the footsteps of the original Grumpy Cat and dive into a Lasagna today!
What will you be celebrating? If you could create a holiday, what would it be?
