HostDime’s upcoming Orlando data center complex will serve as the only enterprise Tier IV data center in Central Florida.
HostDime’s current flagship data center, located in Orlando, Florida, is nearing capacity. We have outgrown our current data center and are building a new facility that will combine the current data center with our corporate headquarters in downtown Orlando. Our vision with this new facility is to be the first purpose-built data center in Central Florida, to meet the local demand of large colocation, to serve as Orlando's primary interconnection and edge facility, and to become the flagship USA facility for our global client base.
This 95,000 square-foot data center structure will be fully owned, operated, and developed by HostDime, and will be completed in April 2022.
The data center facility is being engineered to meet and to attain the following certifications: HIPAA, PCI, SOC 2, ISO 27001/9001/27017, NIST, FedRAMP and FISMA.
The modern, seven-story facility, which will hold all of HostDime's U.S.-based employees and three floors of data center space, was designed by Baker Barrios. Innovative construction firm Robins & Morton will construct the building, IDG is the landscape architect, GAI Consultants Inc. is the civil engineer, and McNamara • Salvia are the structural engineers on the project.
The new category 5 hurricane-rated facility will feature space for over 1,000 racks. Additionally, there will be at least a dozen network/fiber providers connecting in 3 full-sized redundant meet me rooms, full Tier IV level mechanical / electrical redundancy, and enough fiber density to power the growing need of the modern day cloud.
Guests will be greeted by a three-story-high atrium at the front of the building with a grand roundabout entrance. This atrium will also house an impressive mosaic video display spanning 36 feet tall and 10 feet wide. The top floor will feature a large conference room and training center with a hybrid indoor/outdoor floor plan with approximately 3,500 square feet of outside terrace. It is designed to host national and global tech conferences for up to 200 people.
As important as our equipment is, the qualified individuals who build, maintain, and service each aspect of our infrastructure from the servers to the network, to the internal software systems are who really makes HostDime stand above those in our industry.
This modern age data center facility will be a major peering/connection HUB for networks in the Southeastern United States and for South American companies. HostDime’s current network is globally recognized as one of the fastest networks in the United States that routes to all of South America, and this new facility will adopt this same performance.
The new HostDime facility will be less than half a mile from the current data center HostDime operates in Eatonville, Orlando Metro Area, Florida, and will include dark fiber connectivity between the two facilities.
“We want to have a big impact on the community, and we think Eatonville lined up with the vision our company has, and we hope to foster the future of this town and its development here.” - Manny Vivar, HostDime CEO and VP of Global Operations
The 95,000 square-foot structure will be an iconic beacon of growth in the Florida business community.
HostDime is beyond excited to have a symbiotic relationship with Eatonville for many years to come. The town is rich with underground fiber, and is going to have a huge economic impact for both us and the Town of Eatonville.
