Use our RAID calculator to compare or configure RAID options and drive sizes to increase your server's performance.
Wouldn't you like to have a more solid and reliable storage subsystem? Whether you’re wanting to improve fault tolerance or input/output (I/O) performance, or a combination of these, a RAID solution is the way to go.
A Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) is a method to aggregate multiple disks to achieve improvements to various aspects of your storage subsystem. We’ve summarized the primary RAID levels that we support below.
Use our RAID Calculator to see how much raw space will be presented to your operating system (OS) as a storage device based on your desired RAID level. A RAID configuration for your storage subsystem is available with the purchase of any dedicated server.
While a RAID configuration that provides fault tolerance can help minimize the risk of data loss from an unexpected disk failure, this does not prevent other sources of data loss such as human error or filesystem corruption. As with any production server, HostDime highly recommends having a robust backup solution in place to minimize the risk of catastrophic data loss. We recommend keeping multiple backup sets including both locally and off-site. Check out our Disaster Recovery Solutions and our Remote Backup Service for serious data protection.
HostDime servers are fully customizable during the order process to add RAID levels to increase performance. If you have any questions concerning RAID configurations, open up a chat!
